BROACHER
mechanical scale removal in order to restore or increase wellbore clearance, reducing flow restrictions and enhancing well performance
Expected Output
Improved steam production from the geothermal well due to increased flow efficiency and restored wellbore diameter.
Method Overview
This operation utilizes a broaching tool — a robust downhole device designed to scrape and dislodge hard scale deposits from the casing or tubing wall. Broaching is particularly effective in geothermal wells where mineral scaling, such as silica or calcium carbonate, accumulates and restricts fluid flow. The tool is run downhole via drill pipe or tubing and gradually moved across scaled sections to mechanically cut through and remove the obstruction.
